By now, you’ve probably seen the overflowing lines outside Yoforia at Five Points. Students weigh in on the yogurt battle of Athens.

Pro-Yoforia:

“Yoforia has more choices too.  It reminds me of Maryland.  And the staff is friendlier here.”

—Meghan Russell, 20, junior  fashion merchandising major

“Yoforia has more flavors.  Pomegranate is the best.  I like that it is self-serve.  I feel in control.”

—Britani Hudson, 19, sophomore, early childhood education major

“We put the experience of Yoforia into the person’s hands.”

—Marsha Middleton, PR spokesperson for  Yoforia, M-Squared Public Relations

Pro-Yoguri:

“Yoguri is the only yogurt place in Athens as far as I’m concerned. Yoforia tasted fake, almost. The self-serve concept is not as sanitary. I feel [the bucket] will lead to over-eating.”

—Christy Mackle, 26, alumna

“I have this attachment to Yoguri, because I was there on day one. It’s part of the Athens family. And it’s the only Yoguri in this world.”

—Grace Shim, 23, senior, speech communication major

“Our yogurt is made fresh every day downstairs.  We only use pure cane sugar.”

—Vena Kim, Owner of Yoguri
